Owen Edmondson

Owen’s Biography

Owen is retired after a 32-year career as a senior financial executive in the electric and gas utilities industry. During his career, much of his focus was on regulatory matters, primarily in the areas of cost of capital and rate of return. Owen is a CPA, CGA and has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.

Owen has a strong commitment to community service. He has served on the boards of a number of not-for-profit organizations in Edmonton. He is the Chair of the Alberta Advisory Board for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the Safety Codes Council, and a public member of the City of Edmonton Audit Committee. Until recently, Owen was also a panel member on the provincial government’s Appeals Secretariat, an organization that emphasizes the principles of administrative fairness and natural justice.

Owen currently participates on the BCMB’s Audit Committee.
