BCMB Seeking Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI)

Edmonton, AB – Beverage Container Management Board (BCMB) is seeking Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) from interested Alberta bottle depots to participate in Alberta-based pilot projects exploring alternative methods of collecting beverage containers.

With a collection rate in Alberta of around 85%, these pilot projects are an innovative step in exploring new, convenient, and accessible collection options for more Albertans. Our goal is to enhance Alberta’s beverage container recycling system and get the province closer to a 100% collection rate. 

The pilots will be limited to the following locations: 

Eligible Metro Locations 

  • Edmonton – Wîhkwêntôwin (Formally known as Oliver) 
  • Edmonton – Old Strathcona 
  • Calgary – Beltline  
  • Calgary – Marda Loop 

Eligible Rural Locations 

  • Town of Waterton 
  • Town of Fox Creek 
  • Town of Evansburg 

We invite interested depot owners to review the full details of the RFEOI and submit a response. 

Key Information: 

  • Project Goal: To explore and test new, innovative methods for beverage container collection. 
  • Who Can Participate: This opportunity is open to all current Alberta bottle depot owners and operators. While the pilot projects will be implemented in specific locations, a RFEOI is welcome from any depot, regardless of its current physical location.
